The AQMC laboratory works directly with the public health sector. Its analytical work in the food, cosmetics and healthcare sectors has a direct impact on consumer health and safety. The laboratory is COFRAC accredited under No. 1-1366 for food microbiology, microbiology applied to fine chemicals and cosmetics, and for environmental and water quality.

Interview with Ms Magalie PLA, Technical Manager at AQMC:
Why did you need a gravimetric dilutor?

Due to the growth in our laboratory’s activity, we need to create a new work line, so we needed to equip ourselves with a second gravimetric dilutor.

How has DiluFlow Elite changed the way you work?

We did several trials between Interscience and a competitor’s dilutor, but the DiluFlow Elite clearly stood out. The feature we like most is the GeckoGrip, which attaches the bags very well and is easy to clean.

The BagOpen shape is also very comfortable, holding the bag much better and with less tension, so we don’t have to waste time cleaning when the bag comes off.

We work with all three dilution speeds. The Accurate speed mode is very practical when we have powders or sprays, as it prevents the product from rising up and contaminating the dispensing nozzle. We use the Fast mode when we have a series of pre-weighs for Salmonella analyses, and we use the Standard mode for the rest of our analyses.

We also appreciate having two pumps in parallel, which enables us to use different media.

Why choose Interscience?

We already have an Interscience easySpiral. What really counted in our choice of gravimetric dilutor was the after-sales service, which was on hand to help us respond quickly to any questions or difficulties we encountered. Someone was on site within 48 hours to help us.

Interscience’s microbiology department also carries out tests to help us with our matrix problems, so that we can run our range of samples and develop a disinfection protocol. The after-sales service really listens to our needs; we haven’t found this service with any other supplier.
